Mike Geffner and The Inspired Word Presents LupUS is US: Inspiring Words of Survival…Living - an event not only to raise money for the Alliance For Lupus Research (http://www.lupusresearch.org/) (Can we link “Alliance for Lupus Research”?) but to raise awareness during Lupus Awareness Month.
Hosted by Nathan P., former slam poetry host at the famed Nuyorican Poets Cafe and a Lupus survivor himself.
The night features HBO Def Poetry star Shanelle Gabriel, NYC Lupus activist/writer Tiffany Peterson, poet Rick Mullin, poet/singer Tai Allen, and singer Debbie Williams.
There will also be a 15-slot open mic, 5 minutes apiece, to share your inspiring words of living and surviving with Lupus and/or another disease.
